PHYSICIANS DEVOTED TO COMMUNITY


Dr. Benjamin O. Martin has been with the Pender Community Hospital since 1964 after transferring his practice to Pender from Crawford, NE where he practiced from 1961-1964. Dr. Martin is a native of Beemer and resides in Pender with his wife, Ginger. The father of ten children, he has also been an active member of the community. Dr. Martin is proud to have served in the U.S. Armed Forces prior to coming to Pender. He is currently a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and Northeast Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Martin has been involved with the University of Nebraska Medical Center Preceptor Program (1965-present) and served as Pender Community Hospital Chief of Staff (1970-1980). He received the honors of being named 1996 Medical Director of the Year, Northeast District, and 1999 Nebraska Medical Association Physician of the Year. Dr. Martin is a vital part of our community and continues to be leader in developing a culture of patient-focused care in the Pender healthcare system and throughout the Mercy network.


Dr. Raymond Schulte is a specialty physician in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. He has become a familiar face at Pender Community Hospital over the past 31 years that he has been providing services here. Dr. Schulte is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is clinical assistant professor of OB-GYN at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. The father of three girls and two boys, Dr. Schulte and his wife live in rural Omaha. He has the unique pleasure working in the same medical practice as his son, Dr. Erik Schulte, at Omaha OB-GYN Associates.
