Pharmacy
As one of the most extensively used therapeutic facilities in the hospital, the pharmacy is a vital factor in the overall efficient operation of the hospital The function of the hospital pharmacy includes providing medications and related supplies in the form needed and at the time required for patient diagnosis and therapy. The pharmacy also provides information about pharmaceuticals to medical personnel, as well as establishing and maintaining a system of accounting for all medications. Medication dispensing is provided within the hospital only for patients - no outside prescriptions may be filled by the hospital pharmacy.
The Pender Community Hospital pharmacy is staffed by Evan Neesen, PharmD, a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy. Consulting pharmacy services are also provided by Larry Rihanek, RPH. The pharmacy staff also includes Sharon Heineman, RN, Pharmacy Supervisor as well as two part time RN's.
