KING AND QUEEN OF HEARTS

The Pender Care Centre celebrated St. Valentine's Day with a soup supper for the residents and their families. Supper was home made Chili and Chicken Noodle soup, fresh baked buns, cold cuts, mini cheesecakes, heart shaped cookies, punch, and coffee.

Added to the mix was the crowning of the King and Queen of Hearts. With family and friends watching, Don Johnson was crowned the King, Marianna Schilling the Queen.
Don & Marianna are long time residents at the Care Centre and enjoy a special place in all our hearts. Don has a great sense of humor and loves to relate stories and jokes. Marianna has a bubbly personality, which is a delight to all that know her.

Art Schmidt and his wife entertained the residents and guests with his special music. Art played the saxophone and was accompanied by his wife on the keyboard. MaryAnn Robertson, mother of Gerry Roberts, and Janet Smith, daughter of Emma Westerhold, danced to a brisk polka, much to the enjoyment of everyone.

We wish to extend a big thank you to everyone that was able to attend and share the evening with us. Your fellowship was a wonderful Valentine's gift.
