 The Pender Community Hospital District, in coordination with the Pender Care Centre, is planning the construction of a 16-apartment assisted living center to be called "Prairie Breeze". The units will be 402 square feet, which will include a living room, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom. Garages will also be available to the assisted living residents. Plans include 24-hour staffing, an exercise and recreation room, family dining room, and spa room with whirlpool along with many other amenities. Ground breaking will take place in the spring of 2008, with construction starting soon after.
