Preceptorship

Nancy D. Trimble, a Physician Assistant student has been at the Pender-Mercy Medical Clinic from June 2 to July 25 completing her family medicine rotation. Dr. Ben Martin has been her preceptor physician. She has also had the opportunity to follow Dr. Felber, Dr. Hoelting and Tamera Binder P.A.-C.

Nancy's roots in the medical system at Pender run long and deep. Nancy was employed at the Pender Medical Clinic for 10 years, from 1990-2000. During those years she worked as a receptionist, coder, and transcriptionist. She has also worked at the Pender Community Hospital as a nurse's aide and ward clerk. Her father, Dr. James E. Mabie, was a physician at the Pender Medical Clinic for 16 years.

Nancy and her husband Steve live 3 ½ miles south of Pender. Steve is a farmer and rural mail carrier for the Pender-Thurston area. They have four children Chandra, Craig, Elizabeth, and Maggie and one granddaughter, Erykah.

Nancy will be graduating from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine at Vermillion, SD on July 31, 2003. Her plans are to continue living in Pender and working in this area.
