Caution Must Be Used With Medication

Check your medicine supply. Chances are you may have out dated medications. Also it is important to read the labels. Just because you can buy these medications at most grocery stores doesn't make them safe. The fact is that half of Americans misuse over-the-counter drugs. And most people never talk to their doctors about potential risks associated with their use.

What do we do wrong? Up to 60% take more pills per dose than recommended on the label, and 49% take more pills more often than recommended.

Rather than misusing over-the-counter pain relievers, talk to your doctor about the possible cause of the pain and options for managing it. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including the over the counter medications. Keep track of all medications you taking on a daily basis including the number of pills. Any medication you receive that has cotton in the bottle remember to dispose of the cotton, it is only there to protect it against pill breakage. Talking the cotton out and replacing it repeatedly can cause contamination. But do keep silicone get packets in the bottle indefinitely as they keep your pills moisture-free.
