Special Touch! Come join us, Friday, April 7, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pender Legion Hall, as Pender Mercy Medical Clinic and Pender Community Hospital welcome you to our Health Fair 2006. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. for the health fair, featuring more than 20 exhibits! Several types of health screenings will be offered, including blood sugars, lipid profiles (including cholesterol) and PSA's (prostatic specific antigen). It is recommended that participants requesting the blood sugars and lipid profiles do not eat or drink prior to testing. Several educational sessions will also be held throughout the day. Other displays will feature information about healthy eating, diabetes, poison control, dental education, and safety. Foot and nail care will be offered for a $10 fee. Blood pressure checks and consultation about Medicare Part D (drug coverage) will also be available. There will be a wide range of information offered that should be of interest to men, women, and children.
