$45,000 Grant For Bus
The Pender Community Health Care Foundation has received word from the Sate Department of Transportation that it has been awarded a Grant of $45,000 to purchase a small bus. The vehicle will be used to transport residents at the Pender Care Centre for health, social and recreational events. The plan is to also use the vehicle to transport non-emergency people for physician and hospital appointments within the District.
The grant is a matching concept, with the Foundation required to provide 40% of the cost.
