Community Benefit
The Hospital provides community benefits in the form of charity care, unpaid cost of public programs, health education and subsidized emergency care. The Hospital's contribution for such programs for the year ended June 30, 2004 consisted of the following:
Charges excluded from revenue under charity care policy: $8,121
Medicare costs in excess of reimbursement: 76,000
Subsidized emergency department care: 78,390
Community health education: 20,391
Total: $182,902
