Hoelting - Physician of the Year 2006

During the 31st Annual Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants, NAPA, Conference Dr. David Hoelting was honored as their Physician of the Year, 2006. Each year, a physician and physician assistant are honored at the conference's awards luncheon. The award is meant to honor those individuals who have significantly contributed to the
profession.

Dr. Hoelting was born in Nelson, NE, attended high school in Lawrence, and proceeded to obtain his education at the University of Nebraska, and onward to the Nebraska Medical Center. Continuing to stay close to home, he completed his residency in Sioux City, IA. Since earning his MD degree, he has practiced in Pender, NE since 1978.

Along the way, he has been very active within his profession. He has served on the NE Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors since 1996, serving as President from 2002-2003. He has been active at a Legislative level, as well as standing as an advisory Board member to the NE State Dept of Water.

In his community, he is active in his parish, has served on the Board for economic development in the community, and has held the position of Chief of Staff for Pender Community Hospital.

Dr. Hoelting has precepted many PA students along the way and continues to work with and supervise PAs in his clinic. He has impacted the profession with every PA student he has encountered, and has continued to do so since 1979.
